Under the direction of the Director, the Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering effective, engaging instruction that meets the unique academic and behavioral needs of students in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. This role includes ongoing assessment, classroom management, instructional leadership, and direct supervision of assigned classroom staff.
Our students may include those receiving special education services or those with alternative education needs. All instruction is grounded in a psycho-educational model and delivered using creative, evidence-based strategies aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs) and each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Established in 1834, St. Joseph's Villa is a non-sectarian, accredited nonprofit organization that provides children with special needs and their families the opportunity to succeed through effective and innovative programs. With support from our community, we create brighter futures for those facing homelessness, mental illness, autism, special education needs, and other challenges. The Villa changes the lives of more than 3,000 children and families each year throughout Central Virginia.
Our staff bring expertise from many fields to meet each individual's unique needs and build upon their strengths. We help people gain skills for long-term independence, stability, and success.
St. Joseph's Villa is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services, Virginia Department of Education and Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, and is certified by the Council on Accreditation for children and family services. We are an approved Medicaid provider.
