Location/Division Specific Information

We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen, currently with about 500 employees, whose “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.

As a TEA Product Support Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a critical role in supporting our global customer installation base as part of Product Life Cycle Support. You will be the technical expert for our TEA ICP MS & OES instrument lines, including ICAP RQ, ICAP Q, ICAP RQPlus, ICAP TQ, ICAP MSX, ICAP MTX, ICAP PRO, and ICAP 6000/7000 series.

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Quality, and our global field service organization to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction, product quality, and product serviceability.

This position is offered as a temporary role to cover parental leave and is limited until End of June 2028.

How you will make an impact:

  • Support Thermo Fisher Scientific and external partner service engineers during installations, repairs and maintenance
  • Support the global field service organization on complaint handling and customer escalations
  • Create, distribute and update required product service documentation (service notes, installation manual, preventive maintenance procedure, IQ, OQ, RQ procedure, installation familiarization guide)
  • Define spare parts
  • Resolve, document and monitor technical problems of ICP-MS, ICP-OES and AA instruments on a worldwide install base
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Management during definition of new products (NPDI) and involvement in the development process especially with regard to service aspects and serviceability of the new product
  • Cooperate during introduction of new products to ensure a smooth transfer from R&D to the field
  • Document, track and support solving software problems that are reported from the field
  • Train service engineers and prepare training materials and instrumentation

How you will get here:

  • Professional background with graduate level qualification or above in Electronics, Science and/or Physics with ideally relevant business experience or equivalent qualification
  • Hands-on experience on TEA instruments is an advantage
  • Solid communication skills in English and German, written and spoken
  • Initiative and sense for systematic, structured and clearly arranged work
  • Ability to rapidly understand problems and systematically working on solutions
  • Willingness to travel for training and support matters
  • Working cost-consciously, effectively and autonomously as well as having a commercial understanding
