Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Te Tomokanga Postdoctoral Fellowship is a two-year full-time appointment offered by Te Pūtahi Mātauranga, Faculty of Arts and Education. Te Tomokanga refers to a gateway or entry point, in this case for a recent Doctoral graduate to take their first step towards an academic career.

This opportunity is open to Māori and Pacific PhD graduates of Arts disciplines to join one of our five Schools as relevant to their scholarly area. These five Schools are Creative Arts; Education and Social Practice; Humanities; Social Sciences and Te Wānanga o Waipapa (the School of Māori Studies and Pacific Studies).

Reporting to the Head of School and supported by academic colleagues, you will conduct research, contributing to the diverse and high-quality research programme in Arts. You will grow your academic network and build a tūrangawaewae (credible foundation) within your discipline. You will contribute to teaching and gain exposure to research funding processes and the internal workings of the Faculty, all of which will aid in your development and preparedness for future academic roles.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), fixed term (up to 24 months duration) opportunity.

The remuneration is $92,213 - $97,083 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
