Job Description

Responsible for delivering operational plans and setting day-to-day objectives related to TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) certification within a defined specialist area. Ensures that Jabra products and solutions meet internal TCO targets and relevant customer/market requirements by planning, executing and documenting TCO-related evaluations and certifications. Resolves day-to-day issues and escalation points within the TCO certification scope, and collaborates closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Product Management to drive continuous improvement in cost, reliability, and lifecycle performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under supervision, performs work assignments requiring technical expertise in TCO certification within one or more domains (e.g. hardware, software, packaging, logistics, service and support).
  • Performs a variety of tasks such as the preparation of TCO assessment plans, test designs, calculations, cost models and documentation in accordance with established codes, standards and procedures, and gradually contributes to designing TCO-related requirements and solutions.
  • Delivers the TCO certification input to technology studies or projects, including definition and validation of TCO metrics, acceptance criteria and test methods for new products and major design changes.
  • Receives training and development in various phases of engineering work, with a focus on reliability, lifecycle cost, maintainability, serviceability and operational efficiency.
  • Creates and maintains TCO certification documentation according to standards, including reports, test records, risk assessments, and recommendations for design or process improvements.
  • Supports root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions where TCO, reliability or lifecycle cost issues are identified in development, manufacturing or in-market.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate TCO considerations into product requirements, design reviews, validation plans and release decisions.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of TCO tools, templates, databases and best practices.

Qualifications

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in an engineering/technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or similar).
  • Solid experience in product certification, compliance, or testing; experience with TCO or similar eco-/sustainability labels/industry standards is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical standards and translate requirements into actionable tasks, evidence packages, and test plans.
  • Project/program execution capability: comfortable managing milestones, dependencies, risks, and corrective actions to deliver certification on time.
  • Project management experience in cross-functional product development/compliance programs (e.g., building and maintaining project plans, running milestone reviews, managing stakeholders and dependencies, tracking actions, and escalating risks/issues to ensure on-time delivery).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; structured, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Very good spoken and written English, comfortable communicating with international colleagues and external partners (emails, documentation, reports, meetings).
  • Demonstrated learning agility, with the ability to quickly understand new products, technologies, and requirements.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working with sustainability and ESG-related requirements/data collection.
  • Experience working with consumer electronics or audio/video products; familiarity with ergonomics/usability standards and certifications.
  • Experience in a global organization with distributed teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Educational background in Industrial Design or Graphic/Visual/Communication Design in addition to an engineering discipline.
