Air Liquide is Hiring for a Tax Supervisor

Reporting to the Tax Director, you will be responsible for the following, which are focused around three core concepts (Technical & Quality expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client service).

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and overseeing the preparation of tax returns for multiple entities including partnership returns
  • Reviewing and overseeing quarterly and annual consolidated tax provisions and tax reporting under IFRS, including the analysis of tax reserves,
  • Reviewing, overseeing and assisting in the preparation of all intercompany reports as required
  • Reviewing and overseeing the SRED tax credits claims
  • Reviewing and overseeing indirect tax remittances
  • Managing and coordinating tax audits, including assisting with responses with Federal or provincial tax authorities
  • Identify and Manage tax exposure / risk for the company and all its affiliates
  • Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a client-centric manner
  • Advise on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, due diligence engagements, and mergers and acquisitions, as required
  • Perform or reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with policies and professional standards
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Share knowledge with team members and assist in their development
  • Some travel may be required
  • Ability to translate tax law to operations
  • Supervising, mentoring and developing junior staff

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Accounting or related field of study

  • CPA Designation

  • Graduate level specialization in taxation (DESSF) or “CPA In-Depth Tax Course or other comparable tax courses

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge of computerized systems such as Tax Prep, Excel, Oracle and Google suite

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act, Excise Tax Act, provincial sale tax act and technical aspects of tax compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in dealing with transfer pricing, SRED and tax review a plus (good to have)

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Coaching skills

  • Customer oriented and service driven

  • Solution oriented
