About the role:
As Tax Specialist at Tele2, you will be the go-to expert for corporate tax and VAT across the group. You will work in close collaboration with Accounting, who are responsible for transaction recording and actively involved in areas such as the annual tax calculations, as well as with Treasury, Legal, and the business, ensuring tax is managed accurately, efficiently, and proactively across both day-to-day compliance and complex cross-border matters.
What you will do:
Corporate & Group Tax
- Manage corporate income tax matters for Tele2 AB and the Swedish group entities, including tax return preparation and supporting tax accounting under IFRS.
- Handle group tax matters including transfer pricing documentation, Pillar 2, CbCr, intercompany structures, and consolidated tax reporting.
- Support year-end and interim financial reporting, including current and deferred tax calculations and related disclosures.
VAT
- Own domestic VAT compliance — VAT returns, reconciliations, and interaction with the Swedish Tax Agency. In collaboration with Accounting team.
- Manage foreign VAT obligations across Tele2's international footprint, including registration obligations, VAT returns, and local filing requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
- Act as internal expert on VAT treatment of products, services, and transactions, providing advice to business and finance stakeholders.
International entities and branches
- Support and advise in tax matters for Tele2's foreign subsidiaries in the Baltics (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) and foreign. branches in the UK, Turkey, Latvia, and Finland.
- Monitor local tax law developments and assess the impact on Tele2's operations.
Advisory and cross-functional
- Provide tax input on new business initiatives, contracts, and structuring questions.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities, and escalate or implement as appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and documentation.
Who you are:
- University degree in Tax, Law, Finance, or Economics.
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in corporate tax and/or VAT, from a Big Four firm, law firm, or an in-house tax function.
- Solid knowledge of Swedish tax law; working knowledge of international tax (OECD frameworks, EU VAT Directive) is a strong plus.
- Experience with IFRS tax accounting (IAS 12) is an advantage.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment.
