As aSenior Associatein the Tax Risk & Controversy team, you’llwork as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive experience, helping our clients navigate through Revenue interventions and, more broadly, manage their tax risk.This is an emerging and dynamic area within Tax, making it anexcitingtime to get involved.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for tax professionals topivot into ahigh-growthspecialismandbroaden theirexpertiseacross Tax Risk & Controversy. We are committed toyourdevelopmentand will provide dedicatedtime and resources for upskillingacrossall areas of Tax Risk & Controversy,ensuring you succeed.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the Revenue intervention process and liaising with Revenue throughout same

  • Carrying out pre-audit testing and reviews across various tax heads toidentifyareas for disclosure to Revenue.

  • Assistingin the preparation of Qualifying Disclosures

  • Engaging with Revenue to agreean appropriate taxsettlement and the application of interest and penalties on same

  • Advising clients on their rights, Revenuepowersand strategy in managing Revenue interventions

  • Carrying out assessments of clients’ tax controls and supporting them in developing a Tax Control Framework

  • Driving management ofrisk management and compliance procedures.

  • Operate and collaborate effectively with a mindset that transcends geographic and cultural boundaries.

  • Directing and driving the success of multiple engagements.

  • Be responsible formanaging within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of client satisfaction.

  • Be part of and contribute to thecollaborativeworking environment.

About you – Key skills and competencies:

  • 3+yearsdesiredoftaxexperience, workingin the Revenue Commissioners or a Big 4 firm / mid-tier practice or similar

  • Ideally the candidate should have experience of Revenueauditsbut this is not a prerequisite.

  • Tax or Accountancy qualification (or qualified by experience) with a strong academic record.

  • Expert at directing and driving the success of multiple engagements.

  • Business Acumen - use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information toassistyour clients in making innovative business decisions.

  • Relationship management - ability to read situations andmodifybehaviour to build quality, diverse relationships.

  • Creative -demonstratean ability to contribute tonew ideasand propose innovative solutions to problems.
