Job Description

Our client, a global professional services firm with an established presence in Bermuda, is seeking a highly experienced U.S. Tax Partner to join its team. This is a senior leadership role and an integral part of the firm’s U.S. tax practice, supporting clients across insurance, alternative investment funds, and other complex corporate structures, including corporations, partnerships, and other entities.

The firm works extensively with clients in the (re)insurance and investment fund sectors, including SEC registrants, hedge funds, private equity funds, captive insurance companies, and ILS structures, providing integrated tax compliance, ASC 740 provision work, and planning services. The Tax Partner will play an integral role in delivering technical excellence and compliance, with a primary focus on U.S. tax compliance and ASC 740 provisions.

While industry experience is valued, the primary focus is on technical corporate tax strength and ASC 740 expertise. The firm can provide guidance on sector-specific rules where necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral part of the U.S. tax practice, providing oversight for corporate, partnership, and other complex structures
  • Manage and review U.S. tax returns and ASC 740 provisions, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance
  • Oversee the quality and delivery of all compliance and technical work within the team
  • Mentor and develop senior leaders, contribute to firm policy, and participate in regional and global strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and maintain high-quality service standards


Ideal Experience & Background

  • CPA designation (EA, LLM in Taxation, or equivalent international credential also considered)
  • 15+ years of U.S. tax experience in public accounting or professional services, with deep expertise in corporate tax compliance, ASC 740, and technical review
  • Experience working with clients in insurance, alternative investment funds, or other complex multinational corporate environments
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex technical work, and deliver accurate, high-quality results
  • Strong communication skills for internal and client interactions
  • Willingness to relocate to Bermuda (relocation support and work permit sponsorship provided)
