Job Description
The Tax Officer is responsible for providing tax advice, guidance, and support across all businesses within AD Airports. The role ensures compliance with VAT, Corporate Tax (CT), Excise Tax, and other applicable tax regulations while supporting tax planning, reporting, audits, risk management, and process improvements. The position also contributes to the development of tax policies, systems, and controls to support efficient and compliant tax operations across the ADA Group.
Responsibilities
Tax Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and contribute tax-related information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit:
- VAT returns as required by FTA/MOF.
- Input VAT and Output VAT reports.
- GCC VAT transaction reports.
- Consolidated Group VAT and entity-level VAT reports.
- Consolidated Group Corporate Tax (CT) and entity-level CT reports.
- Excise Tax returns.
- Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and adherence to regulatory deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Liaise with tax authorities to resolve tax-related issues and queries.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Provide expert tax advice and guidance on VAT and Corporate Tax matters.
- Understand business operations and identify tax impact areas for AD Airports and its subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance.
- Identify and mitigate potential tax risks.
Systems, Policies & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement system improvements and enhancements.
- Analyze existing systems and recommend changes to improve management reporting efficiency.
- Assist in implementing tax systems, policies, and processes.
- Assist in creating and maintaining tax policies and procedures covering VAT, Excise Tax, and Corporate Tax.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to financial reporting processes.
Financial Analysis & Controls
- Ensure accuracy of tax liability forecasts.
- Ensure proper recording of transactions.
- Ensure accuracy of tax and financial reports.
- Review and analyze financial reports from various departments and recommend actions to improve future income.
- Establish and maintain effective controls to prevent tax penalties and non-compliance.
Audit & Stakeholder Management
- Assist with Internal Audits, Statutory Audits, and Tax Audits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understand stakeholder tax requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to support tax compliance and reporting requirements.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Integrate HSE considerations into daily professional and technical activities.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-conformities promptly.
- Participate in mandatory HSE training programs.
- Support environmentally responsible and safe work practices.
General
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Line Manager to support divisional objectives and organizational priorities.
Requirements & Skills
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with Accounting and Tax subjects.
- Tax Diploma (Preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in VAT and accounting, covering all accounting modules.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
