We're currently looking for a Tax Manager to join our Auckland-based Finance team on a 9-month fixed-term contract during an exciting period of strategic review, transformation and growth planning.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuinely international tax role, supporting operations across New Zealand, Oceania, Asia, Europe and the Americas while working alongside an experienced global tax team.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, you'll support both New Zealand and overseas group companies across a range of tax workstreams.

Your responsibilities will include:

Compliance

  • Supporting the review of New Zealand income tax returns

  • Assisting with T&G's global tax compliance programme to ensure timely and accurate lodgements

Advisory & Projects

  • Providing tax advice across a range of areas including international tax, withholding taxes, GST, FBT and business transactions

  • Supporting strategic projects, business transformation initiatives and growth opportunities

  • Assisting with transfer pricing and Country-by-Country Reporting requirements

  • Contributing to tax governance, controls and risk management activities

Tax Accounting

  • Supporting tax calculations and disclosures for half-year and year-end reporting across the global group

About you

You'll bring:

  • 4-6+ years' experience in corporate tax, either in professional services or a large corporate environment

  • Strong working knowledge of New Zealand taxation

  • Exposure to international tax matters and cross-border transactions (highly regarded)

  • Understanding of financial reporting and IFRS

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills

  • A collaborative, proactive approach and desire to continuously improve

A degree in Accounting or Law is required, with CA qualification preferred.
