The Opportunity

As a Tax Manager, you'll serve as both a technical leader and trusted business advisor while overseeing client engagements and developing tax professionals.

You'll work closely with privately held businesses, business owners, executives, family groups, and entrepreneurs to help them navigate complex tax matters, identify planning opportunities, and achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Advisory & Planning

• Lead and oversee tax engagements across a diverse client base
• Review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and related tax returns
• Develop proactive tax planning strategies designed to minimize liabilities and maximize opportunities
• Research complex federal and state tax matters
• Provide practical guidance and recommendations to both clients and team members

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain long-term trusted advisor relationships
• Meet with business owners and decision-makers to understand their goals and challenges
• Deliver exceptional service through responsiveness, communication, and strategic insight
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and services

Leadership & Team Development

• Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals at all levels
• Provide meaningful performance feedback and career guidance
• Review work products and ensure quality and accuracy
• Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
• Help build and strengthen the firm's future leadership pipeline

Practice Leadership

• Coordinate engagements with other managers and partners
• Help drive consistency, efficiency, and innovation across the practice
• Assist with workflow management and engagement scheduling
• Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives
• Serve as a resource for solving complex client and operational challenges

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting
• Active CPA license
• 5+ years of progressive public accounting experience
• Experience reviewing federal and state tax returns
• Experience with corporate, partnership, and individual taxation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
