Job Description

Purpose

Lead and support tax management activities across the LATAM region, ensuring tax compliance, transfer pricing governance, tax risk management, and advisory support for strategic business initiatives. This role partners closely with finance and business stakeholders to drive tax efficiency, support cross-border transactions, and provide guidance on tax-related opportunities and risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and oversee preparation of related documentation.
  • Monitor adherence to corporate tax policies and regulatory requirements across LATAM.
  • Manage tax audits, disputes, and litigation processes within the region.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks while supporting regional tax strategy execution.
  • Participate in tax structuring initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and other strategic projects.
  • Advise business and finance teams on the tax implications of transactions and operational decisions.
  • Provide technical tax guidance to local finance, accounting, and tax leaders, coordinating with external advisors when needed.
  • Monitor tax legislation changes and communicate impacts to key stakeholders across the region.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities aligned with business objectives and operational needs.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Tax Specialization, Master's Degree in Economics, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in English

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, international tax, or tax advisory roles.
  • Previous experience supporting multiple countries within the LATAM region.
  • Strong experience managing tax audits, tax controversies, and tax risk assessments.
  • Experience with transfer pricing compliance and documentation.
  • Exposure to cross-border transactions, corporate restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, and tax planning projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience working within multinational or complex international business environments.

Location: Escazú, San José, Costa Rica.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
