Role Overview
The Tax Manager serves as the strategic leader for all direct and indirect tax obligations at Ghana Telecommunications Company Limited (Telecel Ghana). This position is critical for ensuring strict compliance with Ghanaian tax legislation, managing the organization's interface with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and optimizing the overall tax position. The incumbent will navigate complex tax frameworks, including Communications Service Tax (CST) and Value Added Tax (VAT) levies, while establishing robust corporate tax and transfer pricing policies that align with the company's broader strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities

Compliance and Filing:
Direct the end-to-end process of preparing, reviewing, and submitting all statutory tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and CST, ensuring all deadlines are met with precision.

Audit and Dispute Resolution:
Serve as the primary liaison with the GRA, leading tax audit processes, addressing regulatory inquiries, and resolving disputes to minimize financial exposure.

Strategic Planning:
Develop and execute tax optimization strategies that reduce liabilities while maintaining full adherence to local legal requirements.

Transfer Pricing Governance:
Oversee the creation and maintenance of local transfer pricing documentation, ensuring all cross-border transactions comply with both domestic laws and international standards.

Financial Reporting and Forecasting:
Generate accurate monthly and quarterly tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and cash flow projections to support corporate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

Regulatory Intelligence:
Continuously monitor updates to Ghanaian fiscal policies, national budgets, and tax legislation to evaluate their specific impact on the telecommunications sector.

Team Leadership and Development:
Guide and mentor the tax team to foster professional growth and operational excellence, while maintaining strong relationships with key external stakeholders.

Provide specialized tax expertise and support to the Finance Director for additional assignments as needed.
Requirements
Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Possess a recognized professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAG, or CITG.
Demonstrate a minimum of 6 to 8 years of post-qualification experience in taxation, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Show a proven track record of managing tax functions within the telecommunications industry, major technology enterprises, or a Big 4 firm with a focus on telecom clients.
Possess substantial practical knowledge of the regulatory landscape governing the telecommunications and financial services sectors.
