Bennett Thrasher (“BT”) has an opening for a  Tax M&A Senior This individual will be responsible for working on a variety of projects related to buy-side and sell-side transactions for clients. They will be working in a collaborative environment to bring value to clients and maintain the highest technical and professional standard while receiving mentorship and guidance from the team.

Responsibilities:

• Develops effective working relationships with clients and firm associates

• Thinks strategically about client needs by understanding their business and key risks

• Maintains client relationships through effective and professional communication; proactively asks for feedback on improvements in order to maximize client satisfaction

• Exhibits a high-level understanding of technical requirements, procedures and principles of corporate and partnership mergers and acquisition transactions

• Applies and interprets U.S. federal income tax law as it relates to tax due diligence exercises

• Demonstrates expert knowledge and understanding of analytical tools and technical issues

• Ability to work with large, complex data sets to build models and provide insights to clients

• Reviews technical research memorandum

• Ability to apply relevant law to clients and circumstances

• IRC Section 382 studies, IRC Section 280G analyses, IRC Section 1202 analyses

• Builds and maintains positive relationships across the firm. Work with other client service teams in tax department to assist clients before, during, and after transactions

• Contributes and supports new ideas

• Maintains open communication with team regarding the progress of completion on projects

• Represents the goals of the firm of the firm on a consistent basis internally and externally

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree required, Master’s preferred

• CPA or JD preferred

• 2+ years of M&A tax experience is required, preferably with a Big Four, National or Regional firm

• Knowledge of Federal and State income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is required

• Strong skills in tax research and writing preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence

• Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills

• Ability to effectively manage multiple engagements simultaneously
