About the role


Orica is looking for a Tax Lead who will be accountable for the end‑to‑end tax affairs of Orica’s India operations This role ensures full compliance with Indian tax laws and Orica’s global tax standards, while providing practical tax support to the business. The role operates with real accountability, visibility, and trust and is based onsite at Orica’s Hyderabad office, Monday to Friday
This is a hands‑on leadership role with a strong focus on tax compliance, governance, and risk management, complemented by practical advisory support to the business.

What you will be doing

  • Own end‑to‑end tax compliance for Orica India, ensuring adherence to Indian tax laws and Orica’s global tax standards

  • Oversee direct and indirect tax filings, payments, and statutory reporting

  • Lead and manage tax audits, assessments, and disputes with Indian revenue authorities

  • Manage transfer pricing compliance and documentation for India

  • Provide practical tax advisory support to finance and business stakeholders

  • Monitor and communicate tax law changes and their business impact

  • Support tax aspects of M&A activities, restructures, and entity changes

  • Lead and develop a local tax team (5 employees) and drive continuous process improvement

What you will bring


  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Law

  • Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent

  • Strong hands‑on experience in India tax compliance and audits

  • Solid knowledge of corporate tax, GST, transfer pricing, and tax treaties

  • Experience engaging with tax authorities and managing assessments/notices

  • Experience managing tax compliance and audits in complex, regulated environments; large or multi‑entity exposure is advantageous.

  • Exposure to international tax and IFRS tax reporting is an advantage

  • Knowledge of SAP and tax reporting tools is a plus
