Location: Shaker Heights, OH
Duration: September - October (with flexibility) / ~24 hours per week (with flexibility)
Prepare individual, trust, estate, gift, foundation, and business tax returns on a timely basis.
Review tax source documents and data pushed through OCR for accuracy.
Conduct tax research to support tax planning and compliance efforts. Be proactive and stay current on new tax legislation and tax reform.
Assist with handling Federal and State Tax notices and audits.
Maintain detailed and organized tax files, including documenting all relevant information and supporting documents for tax returns.
Collect and input relevant financial records into tax return software or databases.
Analyze tax data submitted by clients to maximize the outcome to the client.
Support the tax planning process for clients and members of the Tax team.
Solid accounting and knowledge of tax laws and regulations in general.
Interest in preparing individual, trust, and business tax returns.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and willingness to learn tax software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Superior problem-solving abilities as well as good decision-making skills.
Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
Detail oriented.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage a variety of projects accurately and simultaneously within strict deadlines.
Ability to provide exceptional client service and exhibits a sense a of urgency to complete work in a timely and accurate manner.
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting/taxation.
Team player who can assist, mentor, and inspire others.
Upholds high standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding client and firm matters.
