Job Description

This role is an in-house international tax position supporting multiple tax functions across the Arch Group’s global operations. The individual will be a member of the global tax team responsible for income tax provision, compliance, and technical support across jurisdictions, with a focus on the Bermuda Corporate Income Tax and OECD Pillar 2 Global Minimum Tax. The role includes technical research, modeling support, and jurisdiction-specific implementation assistance related to Bermuda tax, Pillar 2, , and global mobility matters. The individual will provide research-based analysis and execution support to tax functional leaders in furtherance of enterprise-wide tax strategies.

This role will sit in the White Plains, NY office on a hybrid schedule of two days in the office, three days remote.

Key Responsibilities

ASC 740

  • Support the global income tax provision under ASC 740, including current and deferred tax calculations, valuation allowance analyses, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Support the review process for quarterly and annual tax provisions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency with financial reporting requirements. .
  • Monitor changes in tax law and accounting guidance and assess potential ASC 740 impacts, summarizing findings for management review.
  • Support maintenance of ASC 740 processes, controls, and SOX documentation, and contribute to process improvements.

Pillar 2 (Global Minimum Tax)

  • Support Pillar 2 technical leads with execution of global minimum tax requirements
  • Assist with tracking and documenting Pillar 2 elections, filings, and local compliance obligations
  • Compile and summarize jurisdiction-specific rules, guidance, and implementation considerations
  • Prepare draft analyses and supporting schedules for Pillar 2 modeling and planning

Bermuda Tax

  • Support Bermuda income tax provision and compliance activities
  • Prepare local US GAAP tax provisions, income tax estimates, and supporting schedules
  • Calculate Bermuda tax book-to-tax adjustments
  • Prepare and/or review Bermuda tax returns in coordination with third-party providers
  • Prepare calculations and modeling related to qualified refundable tax credits
  • Support technical research and planning related to Bermuda tax and interaction with related jurisdictions

International Tax

  • Support permanent establishment, including technical research and data gathering

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors as needed

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of public accounting and/or in-house corporate tax experience with exposure to ASC 740
  • Working knowledge of Pillar 2 concepts and mechanics
  • Strong general accounting knowledge and understanding of tax impacts to financial statements
  • Solid research, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and execute assigned work independently
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Desired Skills

  • Exposure to insurance or reinsurance operations
  • Experience assisting with implementation of new tax regulations
  • Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
  • Familiarity with GAAP and introductory exposure to STAT accounting
  • Experience supporting international tax matters for non-US

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

For White Plains, NY: $123,400 - $166,633/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
