The candidate
We are looking for a Tax Compliance Senior Specialist with more than 3-5 years’ experience in the tax department of a multinational Group or in a primary tax firm.
Job responsibilities
Reporting to the APAC Senior Tax Manager, he/she will have the following responsibilities:
• To supervise the APAC entities management of the tax compliance for both direct and indirect taxes.
• To supervise tax calculation, tax return filling and tax payments for both direct and indirect taxation, to comply correctly and timely with relevant tax legislations, taking opportunities and minimizing tax risks. ,
• To monitor tax developments in APAC countries, advise the relevant tax implications and ensure the timely compliance/implementation.
• To prepare tax provision/tax package for APAC entities on a needed basis.
• To support the APAC Senior Tax manager with specific compliance initiatives and tax inspections.
• To support the APAC Senior Tax Manager to analyze the tax implications of business activities and formulate solutions to align with the group’s policy and mitigate tax risks, handle tax-related enquiries from APAC entities and provide technical guidance.
Profile
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally combination of Big 4 + in-house in MNC group.
• Sound knowledge of prevailing China, Hong Kong and international tax laws and regulations, and their practical application.
• A professional accounting qualification such as HKICPA or equivalent.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office with familiarity using emerging AI-powered tools in daily work and ability to analyze numbers with MS Excel knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, diversified business environment.
