Responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of federal income tax returns
• Assistance with analysis to support the federal consolidation
• Preparation and review of state and local income tax returns
• Support Federal and State Audit Group, as necessary
• Support tax modeling process
• Assist in Quarterly and Year-end closing processes
• Assistance with analysis to support the reporting processes
• Support international aspects of ASC 740 reporting, including all requisite analyses, disclosures, and management communications
• Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley controls' requirements
• Establish and maintain best practices documentation

Education / Certifications:

• Undergraduate or advanced degree in accounting. Advanced tax degree would be a plus

Experience / Qualifications:

• 5+ years of compliance/reporting experience in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment
• Willingness to understand major steps in the compliance process, from data sourcing through filing and tax account activity
• Ability to identify and implement continuous process improvements
• Operative understanding of tax cycle from planning through audit
• Ability to understand complex tax concepts and apply those concepts to minimize taxes
• Working knowledge of all major areas of tax law affecting Carrier
• Understanding the impact of taxes on the financial statements, and the ability to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results

Enabling Competencies:

• Experience with CorpTax Longview and HFM, a plus
• Experience with Excel and Word
• Good interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate and coordinate with others throughout Tax and Finance organizations
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure
• Operates with a sense of urgency
• Ability to motivate others to work towards established deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good business sense and creative problem-solving skills
• Passion for understanding processes and continuous process improvement
