The role is responsible for preparing tax reconciliations, journal entries, and compliance documents, while fostering collaborative relationships with business units and external stakeholders. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a proactive approach to staying updated on tax regulations, and the ability to handle ad-hoc tasks effectively.
Initiates the reconciliation of tax accounts on a quarterly basis (i.e., reconciliation of tax balances in the accounting books with the relevant tax returns)
Prepares monthly journal entries related to the payment of taxes and income tax accrual
Prepare and maintain tax computations, returns and related attachments for submission to the relevant taxation authorities
Direct liaison with business units and external consultants/auditors for purposes of tax compliance (e.g., tax return preparation, tax assessments) which includes the provision of data required by such business units and external consultants/auditors
Assists in the data extraction required relation to tax assessments as well as the vouching and analysis of documents prior to submission to the BIR
Prepares the annual registration and submission of computerized books of accounts (CAS)
Maintains accurate and updated filing database of tax returns, attachments, and other tax files in SharePoint
Monitors changes in tax regulations and documents those updates that are relevant to the Company
Accomplish other ad-hoc activities as instructed by the Senior Tax Associate or Tax Manager
