Job Description

The Tax Associate position is responsible for handling sales tax related tasks.

Pay Rate: $22-25/hr

This is a hybrid position; candidates should be located near Wilmington, NC and able to work in the office approximately three days per week to support in-office responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare excise and sales and use tax related forms as assigned
• Process and mail all required paper tax filings
• Record tax payments and other related activity in accounting system
• Complete manual online tax submissions
• Assist with compiling audit documentation as needed
• Communicate frequently with management team, field operations, Regulatory Agencies, vendors, suppliers and other necessary outside organizations in respect to assigned areas

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (2-year) in Accounting or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in Accounting or a related field required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines
• Strong computer, presentation and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
