Tax Administrator

A reputable accounting and auditing firm based in Durbanville, Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Tax Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will hold a Degree in Taxation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage tax compliance for individual and corporate clients, including the preparation and submission of tax returns (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, etc.).
• Ensure timely submission of all tax returns and payments to SARS to avoid penalties and interest.
• Liaise with SARS on behalf of clients to resolve any queries, disputes, or requests for additional information.
• Assist clients with tax registrations (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, etc.) and ensure that tax profiles are up to date.
• Handle tax clearance applications and monitor their validity.
• Keep clients informed of tax deadlines and assist with any necessary tax planning.
• Prepare tax reconciliations and review client records to ensure accuracy before submission.
• Track and follow up on assessments, refunds, and SARS correspondence.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client tax files and documentation.
• Provide support to the accounting team with ad hoc tax-related queries.
• Assist in managing SARS eFiling profiles for the firm and its clients.

Requirements:

• Education
• Relevant Degree in Taxation

• Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word).
  • Solid understanding of South African tax laws and compliance regulations.
