Tax Accountant
A leading publicly traded organization is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its corporate tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with public accounting experience who is looking to transition into a dynamic in-house tax role with broad exposure to corporate and partnership taxation.
This full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office each week and two remote workdays.
What You'll Do
As a Tax Accountant, you will support the organization's federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting efforts while partnering with experienced tax professionals on a variety of projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare federal, state, and local corporate and partnership income tax returns.
- Prepare tax extensions, estimated tax payments, and related filings.
- Assist with quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations.
- Analyze financial records to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
- Support responses to tax notices, audits, and information requests from taxing authorities.
- Prepare refund claims and other tax-related filings.
- Conduct tax research and assist with special projects.
- Maintain organized tax records and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify tax planning opportunities and support business initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- At least one busy season of public accounting tax experience.
- Experience preparing federal corporate (Form 1120) and partnership (Form 1065) tax returns.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or Master's degree in Taxation.
- Experience with OneSource, GoSystem Tax, or similar tax preparation software.
- Experience using tax research software.
- Familiarity with fixed asset software is a plus.
