An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Tax Accountant to join Nova Systems and support the Tax Manager within our global finance team.

In this role, you will deliver a broad range of tax and accounting support — from providing in‑house advice to management on ANZ tax matters, to hands‑on preparation of journals, reconciliations, and tax calculations. You will also contribute to group tax activities, ensuring policies and procedures align with global principles, deliver compliant tax outcomes, and are accurately applied within the finance system.

This is a full‑time, permanent role based in Adelaide, offering flexibility through a hybrid mix of office and remote work.

What You’ll Be Involved With

• Supporting the Tax Manager to develop, implement and monitor tax-related processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Supporting the Tax Manager in the development and implementation of an updated Tax Governance policy and supporting procedures.
• Undertake research and assist the Tax Manager to provide technical tax advice and guidance to ANZ management and employees.
• Prepare Australian and New Zealand ledger tax provisions and balance sheet reconciliations for all tax accounts, including maintenance of the tax fixed asset books.
• Assist the Tax Manager in the preparation and lodgement of all tax related returns and obligations for Australia and New Zealand.
• Support audits, reviews, or queries from relevant authorities.
• Participate in the annual statutory audit process including assisting the Tax Manager in the preparation of tax-effect accounting and associated disclosures in the financial statements.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical tax position papers and Board papers.

What We Would Like From You

• Tertiary qualifications in an accounting discipline and professional qualifications (CA, CPA, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience in tax, including exposure to FBT, GST, and income tax
• Demonstrated experience in preparing tax effect accounting calculations and disclosures consistent with the requirements of AASB 112
• Knowledge of international tax principles and transfer pricing is desirable but not essential
• Professional services or commercial experience preferred
• Commitment to compliance, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking
• Strong understanding and knowledge of key accounting concepts and processes, and IFRS or Australian accounting standards
• Experience with ERP applications such as Oracle, SAP, Power BI or equivalent is desirable but not essential
• Effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
