Job Description

A Tasting Room Lead position for Northstar Winery is available in Woodinville, WA. This role is based at Chateau Ste. Michelle, which now includes a dedicated and exclusive space for our Northstar brand. As a Tasting Room Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the tasting room. You will ensure that service standards are exemplified consistently and demonstrate leadership in all situations. The Tasting Room Lead will set the tone for workplace standards and guest service expectations.

This is a full-time, hourly role that is eligible for tips. This role requires availability in the evenings and on weekends.

Tasting Room Lead – Northstar West job responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations of the tasting room, ensuring smooth service flow and adherence to company standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the associates to provide a best-in-class guest experience.
  • Model exceptional customer service and professionalism, setting the tone for the team.
  • Support staff scheduling, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure the tasting room standards are consistently upheld, such as maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with state and company guidelines.
  • Assist with any Northstar event execution, wine club member engagement, and retail sales or promotion initiatives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact in Woodinville for all aspects of the Northstar brand.
  • Provide accurate information regarding the Northstar wine club and mailing list while encouraging guests to sign up.
  • Operate POS/registers to sell wine, merchandise, wine club memberships and to collect wine tasting fees as needed.
  • Responsible for providing accurate, timely and thorough reports including monthly inventory reconciliation and daily wine sample logs.
  • Occasional travel up to 5% to Walla Walla or other various locations for training, events, promotions etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk for extended periods of time.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.
  • MAST12 Class Permit and Food Handler's Permit required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • 3+ years of customer service experience required (retail/hospitality preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to speak comfortably and audibly in front of groups.
  • High level of experience with problem solving and customer resolution while remaining calm and professional.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Goal orientated and able to work as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills with superior knowledge of Point of Sales (POS) systems.
  • Must be flexible and available to work varied hours.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Your Compensation:

$21.41 – $27.83per hour based upon relevant experience.
