TAR Superintendent -267619

UGL are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead, coordinate and oversee the execution of a major LNG Turnaround at Wheatstone The role serves as the primary company focal point for all activities, ensuring alignment between contractors, engineering, operations and project stakeholders.

The position will support pre-TAR planning and readiness activities, transitioning directly into site-based execution in October 2026, where you will lead multi-discipline delivery within a live operating environment.

  • Perth based with ad hoc site visits during pre-TAR phase

  • Site-based during event execution

  • 5 Months

Key Responsibilities:

Oversight of UGL Operations

  • Enforce policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Act as the focal point for operations, resolving issues and guiding contractors/teams.

  • Manage resources (manpower, materials, and scheduling).

  • Oversee onsite contractors for safe, efficient, and compliant delivery.

  • Provide leadership across multi-discipline teams including ICE, SMP, lifting and hot works

SIMOPS & Live-Plant Execution

  • Coordinate daily SIMOPS for safe integration with live plant operations

  • Act as the UGL/client interface for PTW, isolations, permits, and execution sequencing

  • Manage interfaces, constraints, and hazard mitigation in a high-risk environment

Contractor Oversight & Field Supervision

  • Monitor contractor compliance with plans, safety, quality, and schedule.

  • Conduct inspections, prestart meetings, toolbox talks, and verify site readiness.

  • Ensure contractor accountability for progress, performance, and productivity.

  • Drive job pack execution, readiness activities, and mobilisation alignment

Safety Leadership

  • Champion strong safety leadership aligned with client and UGL systems

  • Ensure compliance with PTW, JHAs, lift studies, and SIMOPS requirements.

  • Lead visible safety engagements and behavioural-based observations.

Quality, Technical Assurance & Compliance

  • Approve ITPs, method statements, and execution documentation

  • Ensure QA/QC compliance and completion of required records

  • Resolve technical queries, deviations, and execution issues in real time

Coordination, Planning & Reporting

  • Act as central coordinator across all disciplines and stakeholders

  • Support planning, sequencing, and readiness activities during pre-TAR phase

  • Maintain schedule integrity through effective coordination of permits, access, and interfaces

  • Provide clear daily reporting, progress tracking, and issue resolution

Compliance, Safety & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct audits and inspections; promote a strong safety culture.

  • Deliver progress reporting and risk updates to stakeholders and leadership

About you

  • 10+ years’ experience in senior supervisory or superintendent roles

  • Extensive experience in LNG, gas plant, petrochemical or heavy industrial turnarounds (TAR)

  • Strong capability overseeing contractors in brownfield, live operating environments

  • Proven experience leading multi-discipline execution teams

  • Strong understanding of SIMOPS, PTW, isolations, and permit systems

  • Ability to deliver in high-pressure, time-critical turnaround environments

  • High-level communication and leadership capability

  • Construction White Card and valid driver’s licence

Highly regarded:

  • Previous experience within major LNG turnaround environments

  • Experience working within highly structured client systems and processes

  • Relevant high-risk work and supervision certifications
