Day (United States of America)Talent Systems and OptimizationThe Manager, Talent Systems & Optimization serves as the strategic and operational lead for talent-related HR technology, systems optimization, and process improvement initiatives within Human Resources. This role is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing HR systems with an initial focus on Workday Recruiting, Talent, Learning, and Onboarding while driving scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, reporting, data integrity, and overall system functionality. This role is focused on long‑term operational ownership and internal capability‑building rather than project‑based delivery.

This position partners closely with HR leadership, operational leaders, IT, and end users to identify process gaps, troubleshoot complex issues, support system enhancements, and lead ongoing optimization efforts following Workday implementation. This role will help strengthen internal system expertise, governance, testing practices, documentation, and long‑term, sustainable support structures. As organizational needs evolve, this position will support broader HR technology initiatives, process standardization, integrations, reporting enhancements, analytics, and continuous improvement efforts across additional HR functional areas aligned to Halifax Health operational priorities.

HRIS Administration & Workday Support

  • Support Halifax Health’s HRIS environment, including system configuration, maintenance, and optimization across functional areas such as Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Recruiting, and related modules
  • Partner with Halifax Health HR leaders and operational teams to gather requirements, evaluate business needs, map processes, and recommend scalable system solutions
  • Support HR systems security administration activities, auditing, and access-related process coordination as assigned
  • Provide functional support for talent-related processes, including talent profiles, performance workflows, succession-related configuration support, and other employee lifecycle transactions as applicable
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution to ensure data integrity, usability, and continuity of service for Halifax Health
  • Maintain system documentation, process maps, and standard operating procedures related to HRIS workflows and support activities aligned to Halifax Health operational priorities

Implementation, Testing & Optimization

  • Participate in HRIS implementation and enhancement initiatives, including requirements analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, data validation, and deployment support
  • Develop and execute test scripts for unit, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing to validate system functionality, integrations, and business outcomes
  • Create, modify, and support reports, dashboards, and data outputs that provide meaningful workforce and operational insights
  • Track, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and system issues in partnership with internal stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams
  • Support release readiness through coordination of testing timelines, configuration updates, issue resolution, and go-live preparation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and leverage HRIS functionality to improve efficiency, user experience, and operational outcomes
  • Own and coordinate HR systems testing practices, including coordinating unit, end‑to‑end, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities across stakeholders
  • Support release coordination activities including testing coordination, issue tracking and resolution, and post‑implementation stabilization
  • Partner with HR leaders and operational teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced system functionality
  • Assist in establishing sustainable HR systems governance, documentation standards, and operational support practices for Halifax Health

Stakeholder Support, Training & Documentation

  • Serve as a key point of contact for HRIS-related questions, issue resolution, and functional support for HR teams, leaders, and end users
  • Create and maintain user guides, training materials, deployment documentation, and knowledge transfer resources to support adoption and effective system use in partnership with HR leadership
  • Communicate system changes, enhancements, and process updates clearly to stakeholders across the Halifax Health system
  • Provide functional guidance and end-user support related to Workday Recruiting, Talent, Learning, and Onboarding processes at Halifax Health
  • Support change management and user adoption efforts through training, documentation, and operational partnership

Reporting, Data Integrity & Compliance

  • Support HRIS reporting, auditing, and data validation activities to ensure system accuracy, completeness, and compliance aligned to Halifax Health operational standards
  • Assist with maintaining data integrity through regular review, reconciliation, and correction of system records aligned to Halifax Health operational priorities as needed
  • Support security administration activities, including role-based or user-based access updates, auditing, and adherence to internal controls as assigned
  • Document system changes, testing outcomes, and support activities to maintain audit readiness and operational transparency
  • Adhere to Halifax Health policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and data governance standards at all times

Project Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Support project planning activities, milestone tracking, issue follow-up, and cross-functional coordination for HRIS initiatives and system changes
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to support implementation, enhancement, integration, and issue resolution activities
  • Recommend and support continuous improvement efforts that enhance HR processes, system usability, service delivery, and user adoption
  • Stay current on Workday and other HR technology functionality, releases, and best practices to inform recommendations and support system evolution
  • Support additional responsibilities as assigned to meet departmental needs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of experience supporting HR technology platforms in a systems, analyst, consulting, or HR operations environment required
  • Experience supporting Workday implementation, optimization, configuration, testing, deployment, or post-production support activities required
  • Experience supporting one or more HR functional areas including Recruiting, Talent, Learning, Onboarding, Core HCM, Compensation, or Benefits preferred
  • Experience with business process analysis, workflow optimization, system testing, defect resolution, and user acceptance testing (UAT) preferred
  • Experience supporting HR systems in a complex enterprise or healthcare environment preferred
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders to translate operational needs into sustainable system solutions
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data integrity
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to operational and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:

  • Knowledge of HRIS platforms such as Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar enterprise systems
  • Experience supporting Workday modules including Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, and Recruiting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills with attention to detail and data integrity
  • Experience with report writing, advanced reporting, dashboards, and analysis to support HR and business decision-making
  • Experience with system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and release support
  • Understanding of HRIS security concepts, including role-based and user-based security administration
  • Familiarity with integrations, vendor coordination, and cross-functional project support
  • Knowledge of process mapping, project coordination, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Agile or similar approaches
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling employee and organizational data
