Job Description

The First Batch wineries create magic for our guests every day — whether that's bringing a dream wedding to life, creating a new delicious food dish from our wine, or letting people discover a new passion on one of our winery tours. We do this while maintaining an approachable, warm, inclusive, down-to-earth attitude that reflects our passion for bringing traditional winemaking into urban centers, so people don't feel they have to travel to experience the magic of winemaking.

We are searching for team members who are committed to working as hospitality professionals — people who deeply care about creating a friendly, warm experience for our guests, who live and breathe passion for food, wine, and events, and who love to learn, share, and tell others about their stories and adventures.

First Batch is seeking a Talent Sourcing Specialist for a 90-day contract engagement to proactively identify, engage, and build relationships with exceptional talent for current and future opportunities across our winery locations in Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, NY, and Chicago, IL.

This role is dedicated to sourcing and talent pipeline development, with a focus on identifying high-quality talent for critical positions across the organization. Working closely with the Senior Director of People, Recruiter, and hiring managers, you'll develop innovative sourcing strategies, engage passive candidates, and build talent communities that support both immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce planning.

If you're energized by uncovering great talent, building relationships, and creating pipelines before positions become open, this is an opportunity to make an immediate impact on a growing hospitality organization.

This is a remote, 90-day contract position averaging 20–25 hours per week Preference will be given to candidates located in or near one of our three markets: Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, NY, or Chicago, IL.

Core Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Build proactive talent pipelines for leadership, hospitality, culinary, sales, operations, and corporate roles
  • Source active and passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search techniques, networking, referrals, job boards, and other sourcing channels
  • Develop talent communities for recurring, critical, and hard-to-fill positions
  • Conduct targeted sourcing campaigns based on current and anticipated hiring needs

Candidate Engagement

  • Execute personalized outreach strategies that generate interest from high-quality candidates
  • Conduct initial qualification conversations to assess experience, interest, and alignment with First Batch
  • Present qualified candidates to the Recruiter and People Team with detailed candidate summaries and recommendations

Partnership & Strategy

  • Partner with Recruiter and hiring managers to understand hiring priorities and develop effective sourcing strategies
  • Research talent markets, competitor organizations, and industry trends to identify new sourcing opportunities
  • Support workforce planning by building pipelines before positions become vacant

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate candidate information within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Track sourcing metrics, pipeline health, outreach response rates, and candidate activity
  • Provide weekly pipeline updates and sourcing insights to the Senior Director of People and Executive Leadership

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of talent sourcing or recruiting experience in an agency, corporate, or hybrid environment
  • Experience sourcing for leadership and professional positions, preferably within hospitality, restaurants, retail, events, or another multi-site organization
  • Demonstrated success identifying and engaging passive candidates
  • Strong Boolean search and LinkedIn Recruiter expertise
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (UKG Recruiting experience preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a contract environment

Hourly Pay Rate

  • $ 40.00-$ 50.00
