The Tal ent Onboarding Coordinator executes CHS’s talent policies and practices to confirm that CHS is equipped to meet its strategic talent goals and objectives, while enhancing organizational talent effectiveness, capability, and engagement. With a focus on exceptional service, the incumbent coordinates the end-to-end onboarding process related to background checks for new hires, contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with CHS policies, funder requirements, and applicable laws while delivering a smooth, timely and customer-focused onboarding experience. to enhance CHS’s talent Overall, the Tal ent Onboarding Coordinator contributes to CHS’s strategic objective of reimagining what HOME means by creating spaces where every child and family is supported and has access to the opportunities they need to pursue their dreams.
Primary Job Functions
1. Execute CHS talent policies and practices to confirm that CHS is equipped to meet its strategic talent goals and operational objectives, while developing and maintaining an exceptional level of customer service.
Background Screening & Onboarding
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the screening and onboarding process.
- Coordinate and initiate background screening processes for candidates, including criminal checks, employment verification, education verification, drug screenings, and I-9 processing.
- Review background check results for completeness and accuracy; escalate discrepancies or adverse findings as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., FCRA) and internal policies.
- Communicate effectively with candidates, hiring managers, Talent Team partners, and any third-party screening vendors.
- Track onboarding progress and follow up on pending items to meet hiring timelines.
- Provide pre-adverse and adverse action communications when required.
- Support audits and reporting related to background screening activities.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve onboarding workflows and candidate experience.
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Manage the proper administration of team member employment files and documentation, including training records.
- Generate reports on talent and other related metrics, when needed.
- Conduct regular team member employment file audits to verify compliance; participate in annual program audits.
- Schedule new team members for the CHS regional orientation program.
- Support Talent Services with audit compliance and performance evaluation tracking.
- Respond to team member inquiries regarding talent policies, programs, and practices.
- Assist Talent Team in the execution of team member acquisition, development, engagement, and retention activities, when needed.
2. Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment.
- Develop a strong knowledge base and stay current on job-related issues, best practices, and trends.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, training, and education, as well as the quality process.
- Comply with CHS’s code of conduct, policies, procedures, and other obligations.
- Assist with training other team members and providing back-up when necessary.
- Pick up projects on the fly; perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications
Education, Licenses & Certifications:
Required High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field from an accredited university. Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Experience:
Required One to three years of Talent/HR experience in a generalist setting. Preferred Experience in high-volume onboarding environment.
