Job Description

Are you a people-person who loves the fast pace of recruiting and the satisfaction of building great new-hire experiences? Join our team as a Talent and Employment Engagement Specialist, where you'll drive high-volume hiring for our Direct Support Professional team, run weekly onboarding sessions, keep compliance records airtight, and help every new employee feel supported through their first year and beyond.

What you'll do

  • Own the full recruiting cycle for high-volume DSP hiring — from sourcing to offer.
  • Lead engaging, well-organized onboarding sessions every week.
  • Manage critical compliance records including Rapback, BCI/FBI background checks, and CPR certifications.
  • Build genuine relationships with new hires through structured check-ins during their first year.
  • Help shape a workplace where people want to stay and grow.

Requirements

What you bring

  • 3+ years of high-volume recruiting or HR experience (healthcare/human services a plus).
  • Sharp attention to detail — especially with compliance paperwork and deadlines.
  • A warm, organized, can-do approach to onboarding and employee engagement.
  • Comfort juggling a busy, ever-changing workload.

New Avenues to Independence provides opportunities for people with disabilities and special needs to become more independent and productive members of society by offering the highest quality support services and developing innovative and inclusive programs. New Avenues has developed a continuum of services, meeting the changing needs of individuals with disabilities throughout the course of their lifetime. New Avenues’ programs are currently serving over 600 individuals, ages 3-100 years in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Summit counties, Ohio. The individuals served include those with disabilities and chronic health conditions such as developmental disabilities, mental illness, autism, cerebral palsy, brain injury, and Down syndrome.
