As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing within Indigenous communities and post-secondary institutions and other key recruitment channels. The position builds and maintains relationships with community leaders, educational institutions, elders, advocates, and employment, training, and community centres to create sustainable recruitment pipelines.

This is a full-time, permanent position offered on a remote basis.

About the Opportunity:

• Lead regular outreach, events, and sourcing in identified indigenous communities, tracking activity and identifying talent trends and employment barriers.
• Build and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, employment and training programs, educational institutions, and community partners across Canada.
• Source and pre-screen candidates through community networks, events, and referrals, supporting them through the application process.
• Share job postings and posters through community job boards, band offices, and social media, using plain, culturally appropriate language.
• Strengthen referral networks with Claims Helpers and Co-Leads, keeping referral sources informed and reporting regularly on outreach, pipeline, and hiring results.
• Build and maintain candidate database to support current and future hiring needs.
• Support high-volume recruitment initiatives and emerging project workforce requirements.
• Contribute to a safe, healthy, and respectful workplace by complying with health and safety policies, communicating openly, and supporting ongoing risk and injury prevention.

About You:

You bring 2-4 years of experience in sourcing, talent acquisition, employment services, or community engagement and:

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business, Indigenous Studies, Social Services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and lived experience.
• Knowledge of the histories, cultures, and lived realities of Indigenous communities with the ability to respectfully engage with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples and organizations.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and active listening skills.
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple recruitment priorities in a changing and project-based environment.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, virtual engagement tool, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.

Fluency is French is considered an asset.

Successful candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.

Compensation:

Starting annual compensation of $51,000-$69,000 plus rewarding benefits package. The offered compensation will take into account the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
