Organization:

SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-ValleyThe Talent Acquisition Manager, Leadership Recruitment plays a central role in shaping how the organization attracts, assesses, and secures leadership talent. This position is responsible for designing, leading, and strengthening a leadership recruitment function, including executive-level roles. The role balances strategic oversight with hands-on leadership recruitment to support both immediate hiring needs and long-term workforce planning and may directly manage select leadership searches based on business need.

Working in close partnership with Human Resources and system leaders, the Talent Acquisition Manager develops and executes leadership talent acquisition strategies aligned with organizational priorities. Serving as a consultant and trusted advisor, this role provides guidance informed by labor market insight, data, and best practices, supporting both the recruitment team and hiring leaders in making thoughtful, well-informed decisions while ensuring consistency across leadership-level hiring.

A core responsibility of this role is growing, developing, and supporting a high-performing leadership recruitment team. The Talent Acquisition Manager provides direction, coaching, and ongoing development to equip recruiters to manage complex searches, engage senior stakeholders, and deliver strong candidate experiences.

The role also emphasizes project leadership and cross-functional collaboration. The Talent Acquisition Manager leads leadership recruitment projects and initiatives across multiple geographic markets and stakeholder groups and oversees a wide range of vendor and supplier relationships, including executive search firms and assessment partners. Responsibilities include vendor selection, performance management, contract oversight, and ensuring alignment with organizational standards and expectations.

In collaboration with HR leaders and key stakeholders, the Talent Acquisition Manager focuses on building sustainable leadership talent pipelines by identifying critical roles, supporting succession planning efforts, and implementing proactive strategies to address current and future needs. By tracking outcomes and key metrics, the role drives accountability and continuous improvement across leadership recruitment programs, strengthening leadership capacity in support of long-term organizational success.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration or related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years of recent relevant experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and procedures pertaining to recruitment and employment with a broad understanding of HR functions and processes.
  • Knowledge of labor market and recruitment/employment trends and issues, and how it impacts the strategic approach to talent management and acquisition.
  • Knowledge of change management and process improvement/redesign with the ability to effectively manage or lead change and transition.
  • Success in shaping and executing a best-in-class leadership hiring experience, delivering a seamless, high-touch journey from initial engagement through onboarding
  • Demonstrates a personal and professional presence when interacting with executives, management leaders, and potential candidates.
  • Demonstrates strategic and analytical skills with the ability to formulate strategies and business plans for improvement and growth.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate and engage team.
  • Ability to bring individuals together to resolve differences/issues or to achieve a common understanding or acceptance of a solution.

This role offers hybrid flexibility with regular onsite presence, primarily in the Sacramento region, and frequent onsite support in the Bay Area and other Sutter Health locations as needed.

Pay Range is $138,881.60 to $208,332.80 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
