Job Description

Talent Acquisition Manager

Lead the Future of Talent at AmeriCU

Salary Range: $90,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience

Location: Rome, NY | Hybrid - in office as needed for meetings and trainings

Reports To: VP, Talent

AmeriCU Credit Union is looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager who's ready to own something, not just manage a process, but build a recruiting function that reflects who we are. This is a management role with real influence: you'll shape how we hire, how candidates experience AmeriCU, and how we build a workforce that reflects our values.

What You'll Do

As Talent Acquisition Manager, you will:

  • Build and lead the enterprise talent acquisition strategy including sourcing, pipeline development, and a strong focus on candidate experience from application through onboarding.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for professional, leadership, and hard-to-fill positions.
  • Manage and develop Talent Acquisition team members; set clear expectations and support their growth.
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, succession considerations, and hiring best practices.
  • Own the onboarding integration process in partnership with Learning & Development and HR.
  • Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews; connect those insights directly to retention strategy.
  • Create and review job descriptions; define role competencies with hiring managers.
  • Manage agency relationships and vendor contracts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local colleges, universities, and workforce development organizations.
  • Develop recruiting dashboards and track key metrics - time-to-fill, quality of hire, new hire retention, hiring manager satisfaction, and more.
  • Lead DEIB efforts through recruitment outreach and sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and fair hiring practices.
  • Represent AmeriCU at career fairs, community events, and industry organizations to strengthen our employer brand.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including a minimum of 2–3 years in a people leadership role.
  • Experience in a financial services environment a plus.
  • Strong background in workforce planning, recruiting operations, and data-driven decision making.
  • Hands-on experience with ATS and HRIS platforms; proficient in MS Office.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills
  • Preferred certifications: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or Predictive Index Certification.

Why AmeriCU?

AmeriCU's philosophy is simple: people helping people. That's not just how we serve our members — it's how we operate internally. Leadership here supports doing right by employees, and you'll have the resources and backing to make a real impact in this role.

We're proud to be recognized as one of the Best Companies to Work For in New York. Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Competitive pay and a generous 401(k) match
  • Comprehensive benefits and tuition reimbursement
  • Wellness programs and real work-life balance
  • Leadership development and training programs
  • A culture that celebrates its people - annual holiday party, summer picnic, and more
  • This is a place where you can build a career, not just fill a role
