Since 2009, Metro has proudly operated and maintained a world-class train service and delivered major transport projects that shape the future of our city. Guided by our value of Safely Always, we are one team dedicated to ensuring everyone gets home safely while helping to connect and create a better Melbourne.

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Coordinator to join our People Experience team and play a key role in delivering a seamless, professional and engaging recruitment experience for our candidates and hiring managers.

This is a fantastic 12 month fixed term opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working across multiple recruitment campaigns and wants to build their career within Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing

As our Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our recruitment activity, supporting everything from individual appointments through to complex and high-volume recruitment campaigns.

You’ll:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, ensuring candidates and hiring managers receive a seamless experience.
  • Support volume, strategic and complex recruitment campaigns, including candidate pipelining and assessment activities.
  • Coordinate and attend Assessment Centres, ensuring everything is organised and ready to go.
  • Manage candidate pools, recruitment records and documentation, ensuring information is accurate, accessible and up to date.
  • Coordinate reference checks and pre-employment screening, ensuring all requirements are completed accurately and in line with company processes.
  • Keep candidates informed throughout the recruitment journey, providing timely and professional communication and ensuring candidate care remains front and centre.
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers, Talent Acquisition Partners, People teams and external recruitment suppliers.
  • Support internal mobility processes and provide coordination support to our Talent Acquisition Partners.
  • Generate employment contracts for both volume and individual recruitment.
  • Respond to and investigate candidate enquiries, providing clear and professional outcomes.
  • Maintain local and international visa information and support associated mobility processes.
  • Prepare and maintain regular recruitment and business reporting.
  • Manage pre-employment and supplier reporting, including invoice reporting to Finance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our recruitment processes, ways of working and candidate experience.
  • Share knowledge and contribute to the success and continuous improvement of the wider Talent Acquisition team.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and genuinely enjoys working with people.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience working in a Talent Acquisition, Recruitment or HR coordination role, preferably within a complex or matrix organisation.
  • Experience coordinating recruitment campaigns, ideally including volume or high-volume recruitment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work with hiring managers and candidates at all levels.
  • A good understanding of contemporary recruitment practices and candidate experience.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative and supportive team member.

Experience with SuccessFactors, tertiary qualifications and/or experience within the rail or transport industry would be highly regarded.

Why join us?

This is more than a coordination role — it’s an opportunity to become a key part of a high-performing Talent Acquisition team and gain exposure to a broad range of recruitment activity.

You’ll work alongside experienced Talent professionals and partner with leaders across the business, giving you the opportunity to develop your recruitment expertise, build strong stakeholder relationships and make a genuine difference to the candidate experience.
