Job Description

Primary Scheduled Hours: Days, 80 hours per pay period

The Talent Acquisition & Compensation Specialist leads full-cycle recruitment and onboarding efforts for the hospital while administering compensation structures and supporting employment compliance activities. This role is critical for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent while ensuring pay practices are fair, competitive, and aligned with organizational values.

This position partners closely with hiring managers to attract and integrate qualified clinical and non-clinical talent, with intentional attention to candidate experience and cultural alignment. The Specialist administers compensation processes, supports job evaluation and salary placement, and ensures that recruiting and pay practices reflect the organization's commitment to equity, transparency, and long-term workforce success.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads full-cycle recruitment for all positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer preparation, ensuring the candidate experience reflects organizational culture and values.
  • Evaluate and recommend recruiting strategies and resources to support current and anticipated workforce needs, including talent pipeline development.
  • Partners with department managers to align on candidate profiles, and coordinate hiring activities.
  • Participates in job fairs, open houses, and community recruitment events as a representative of NHHS.
  • Serves as a professional, welcoming, and culture-forward representative of the organization throughout the hiring experience.
  • Coordinates recruitment advertising strategies in collaboration with Marketing, including internet postings and promotional materials.
  • Maintains and administers the UKG Recruiting & Onboarding platforms, ensuring postings are accurate and applicant tracking is current.
  • Refers qualified applicants to department managers for further review.
  • Administers compensation structures and established pay practices in alignment with organizational guidelines, internal equity, and market data.
  • Develops competitive, equitable offers for new hires, promotions, and transfers that reflect internal equity, market benchmarking, and culture-driven retention strategies.
  • Assists with job evaluations and maintains accurate, current job descriptions in support of workforce planning.
  • Conducts market comparisons using approved salary survey data to support fair and competitive pay decisions.
  • Promotes equitable and transparent pay practices that build employee trust and support long-term retention.
  • Assists with FLSA classification reviews and ensures wage and hour compliance.
  • Processes compensation changes and maintains related documentation.
  • Serves as backup support for benefits administration functions as needed.

Education Background and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education:

BA or BS Degree in related field or a minimum of 4 years of HR Experience

Required Experience:

At least 4 years of experience as an HR Generalist which would include a minimum of 2 or more years as a recruiter.

Preferred Qualifications:

HR within a Hospital setting.

Compensation experience & expertise

PHR or SPHR preferred.

Compensation/How We Care For You:

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.

NHHS employs six primary care physicians, four emergency room physicians, one hospitalist, six health care affiliates, three pharmacists, two Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and five surgeons (general, orthopedic, gynecology, podiatry). We offer complete obstetrical care including epidural anesthesia and Cesarean deliveries in a private, family setting.

Outpatient services are comprised of full-service diagnostic imaging (radiology), laboratory, pathology and licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapy. NHHS also offers short stay and same day surgical services and a fully staffed general medical acute care unit.
