We are seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Talent Acquisition Advisor to join our Talent Acquisition team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to partner with hiring leaders across the business, helping to attract and hire exceptional talent that supports Finning's continued growth and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Advisor will manage full-cycle recruitment activities across a variety of operational functions. The successful candidate will work closely with hiring managers to develop effective recruitment strategies, identify top talent, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.

This role is ideal for a recruiter, based in Edmonton, with 2-3 years of recruitment experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong partnerships with stakeholders. Experience recruiting for skilled trades, technicians, mechanics, or operational roles is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities from requisition intake through offer acceptance and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.
  • Source, assess, and engage qualified candidates through various channels, including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, and networking.
  • Conduct recruiter screens and evaluate candidates against role requirements, competencies, and cultural fit.
  • Coordinate interviews and facilitate communication between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for high-volume and specialized positions.
  • Provide hiring managers with market insights, recruitment trends, and talent availability data.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely communication and professional representation of the Finning brand.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and requisition records within Workday and ensure compliance with recruitment processes.
  • Support recruitment initiatives for corporate, technical, operational, and skilled trades positions.
  • Participate in employer branding initiatives, career fairs, and talent attraction campaigns.
  • Collaborate with HR partners and business leaders to support workforce planning activities.
  • Ensure recruitment practices align with employment legislation, company policies, and diversity, equity, and inclusion objectives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of full-cycle recruitment experience in an in-house or agency recruiting environment.
  • Experience utilizing an HRIS or Applicant Tracking System, preferably Workday Recruiting.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing and screening candidates across diverse functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred

  • Experience recruiting for skilled trades, heavy equipment technicians, mechanics, field service personnel, construction, mining, or industrial roles.
  • Knowledge of the heavy equipment, mining, construction, or industrial sectors.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other proactive sourcing tools.
