Hatch is seeking a Tailings Hydrotechnical Engineering Co-op Student to join our Tailings and Mine Waste practice for a 4- or 8-month long work term beginning in January 2027.
As part of an integrated team of tailings specialists, you will work alongside professionals in hydrotechnical, geotechnical, process, pumping and piping engineering to support the planning, design, and operation of mine tailings and water management facilities. Reporting to a Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer in our Calgary office, you will contribute to a variety of local and international mining projects while gaining hands-on experience in hydrotechnical engineering, water management, and tailings design.
As part of the Hatch Tailings and Mine Waste team, you will contribute to real-world mining and water management projects while working alongside experienced specialists in hydrotechnical, geotechnical, process, and tailings engineering. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on both local and international projects, gaining exposure to a broad range of technical challenges and innovative solutions. This role provides opportunities for technical development through mentorship, informal learning, and collaboration with industry leaders, while participation in lunch-and-learns, student networking events, technical showcases, social activities, and other employee-led programs will help you build your professional skills and become part of the Hatch community.
Range: $26.00 - $33.00

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
