Tactical Buyer - Packaging & Facility Management Categories in Indirect Purchasing

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Tactical Buyer to support the Packaging Category within Indirect Purchasing. In this role, you will manage sourcing and purchasing activities across key packaging materials and support other categories e.g. FM and MRO, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance, and full alignment with business needs.

YOUR TASKS

• Realization of sourcing requests, purchasing of indirect material incl. preparation and realization of tenders, negotiation and evaluation
• Handling of purchase requisition in Ariba SAP system for Knorr-Bremse´s plants
• Realization of saving plan within assigned categories (focus on packaging materials: cardboard, plastic, wood, reusable container, FM related sub-categories)
• Approving process administration
• Support strategic supplier development and implementation of category strategies, including sustainability and optimization initiatives.
• Improvement of the supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, productivity and total cost
• Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and manage approval workflows.
• Reporting of achieved savings in reporting tool Wave
• Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, requestors and colleagues
• Communication with suppliers and internal customers

YOUR PROFILE

• High school education or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Packaging Technology, or a related field is benefit
• Min. 4 years of professional experience in indirect purchasing or comparable responsibility, knowledge of packaging category (especially cardboard, plastic, wood, reusable container) is a strong advantage
• Knowledge of indirect purchasing categories facility management or MRO are beneficial
• Solid understanding of procurement processes, supplier management and cost structures are preferred
• Fluent English written and spoken, German is an advantage
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint); experience in cost analysis and reporting
• Experience with SAP Ariba is an advantage
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
• Self-driven, open-minded, and a reliable team player
• Willingness to embrace change, pursue development, and face new challenges
• Readiness to work in an international environment with occasional business travel within Europe
