FTE: 1.00 – Probationary

The expected start date is August 25, 2026, and is anticipated to complete on June 29, 2027.

Dr. Gerald B Probe Elementary School serves approximately 415 students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 and we encourage growth amongst our students by promoting diversity and inclusion within our academic programs. Subjects

Dr. Gerald B Probe Elementary School is seeking a Music teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be expected to teach students from Grade 1 to Grade 5 in Music. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in student support and hold an unwavering belief that every child is a capable learner and will have:

• Experience with Orff instruments and instruction;
• Experience organizing and planning concerts and performances (preferred);
• A willingness to provide extra-curricular opportunities would be considered assets;
• An understanding of music curriculum implementation;
• A passion to work collaboratively with a team, creating and supporting an inclusive learning environment;
• Developed effective relationships with students, families and the school community.

Requirements

• Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide:

• A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
• A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
• Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
• Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
