The School
Nicholas Sheran Elementary School serves approximately 325 students from kindergarten to grade five, alongside an Early Education Program (EEP). Situated in West Lethbridge on the Nicholas Sheran Park, our school welcomed its initial students and staff in the spring of 1982, becoming the first school in Lethbridge School Division west of the Old Man River. We collaborate with our students and families as we learn, grow, and play on the traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy and the Indigenous peoples who are deeply connected to this land today. Our values guide us, and students learn the importance of Responsibility, Collaboration, Resilience, and Compassion, each day at our school. Our focus on building strong relationships for the purpose of learning connects well with our emphasis on social-emotional understanding, outdoor and land-based learning, foundational literacy and numeracy skills, and co-creating an affirming community for all.
