This position is ideal for Child & Youth Workers (CYC/CYW) with one year or more of experience supporting youth with complex needs including trauma, substance use, homelessness, mental-health challenges, or sexual exploitation. Based in Toronto, these full-time, part-time, and casual relief opportunities support a specialized 24/7 residential treatment program for female youth aged 1217 who are survivors of sexual exploitation, trafficking, and gender-based violence
Compensation ranges from $27.89$32.47 per hour, depending on role type, experience, and schedule.
HealthOPM is recruiting on behalf of a respected Toronto-based non-profit organization that operates a trauma-informed, anti-human trafficking (AHT) live-in treatment program for high-needs youth.
As a Child & Youth Worker, you will provide care, supervision, therapeutic support, crisis intervention, safety monitoring, and structured routines within a residential environment. You will collaborate with clinicians, peer support workers, and interdisciplinary team members to support healing, regulation, and long-term stabilization.
CYC/CYW Diploma or Degree
Strong knowledge of:
Crisis management & intervention
Trauma-informed care
Harm reduction, conflict resolution, motivational interviewing
Gender-based violence, sexual exploitation & human trafficking
Understanding of:
Child Welfare systems, CYFSA, Ministry standards
Social determinants of health & systemic violence
Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility (IDEA)
Anti-oppressive, anti-racism, and anti-Black racism frameworks
Experience in youth shelters or gender-based violence programs
Certified in CPR/First Aid, CPI or similar crisis training
Fluency in another language (including ASL)
Valid drivers license & vehicle (asset)
