Job Description
The Role
As an integrated part of the EA team you will work closely with various department software developers and product owners to come up with requirements, assess the risks, plan, write, and execute both manual and automated tests. As well as implement solutions that meet our customer requirements. You will identify, document and report defects in the application and work with the development team to ensure quality in the released product. You will be required to maintain a suite of tests that will exercise functionality of the application. You will automate current manual test cases, document and develop automation tests for all our applications by using the Selenium Framework.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of Enterprise Applications projects/products
- Create and maintain test plans and test cases based on feature requirements
- Create automated tests for new and legacy features using Selenium Framework
- Create and execute automated test on a scheduled basis
- Develop reporting dashboards and reporting mechanisms for key Automated tests
- Ability to execute and maintain manual and automated test cases prepared by yourself, other QA Analysts and the development team
- Provide detailed feedback to developers identifying discrepancies between requirements and actual results from testing and requirements
- Coordinate efforts with other members of the Enterprise Applications team to ensure adequate testing coverage has been accomplished
- Maintain records of tests performed in a Test Case Management tool
- Provide estimates of time required to create and run test cases per project
- Assist developers and Tier 2 in verifying and reproducing user-submitted defects
- Troubleshoot failures as required to demonstrate repeatability in an effort to improve test coverage
- Perform other operational duties as required
Qualifications:
- Experience testing projects and products in an Agile environment
- Proven software development skills in one or more languages like Python, Java, C#, C++
- Experience working with QA and Testing methodologies and tools
- Experience working with Automation tools and Frameworks
- Experience working with Windows, LINUX, and MySQL/MSSQL
- Software integration experience
- Scripting experience
- Experience in working with web systems and applications would be an asset
- A strong commitment to quality
- Effective investigation skills and ability to clearly document findings
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Close attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure
Experience
- 3+ years of QA and testing experience
- 1+ years experience in writing software for test automation or active software development experience
- Recent grads in Software Development with interest in QA and Testing
- Experience with Selenium or Appium would be a great asset
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required
