Job Description

To provide technical support of the micrcomputer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment utilized throughout Cottage Health.

This is not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements. Employees will be required to perform any job, with related instruction given by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation.

  • Executes work requests for microcomputer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment needs initiated by end users. This may include assigning tasks to microcomputer technicians, performing installations, end user training. (50%)
  • Serves as level 2 resource for more complicated applications, hardware, systems, and incidents. (10%)
  • Interfaces with other ISD teams for project related work. Interfaces with Compliance/Security to evaluate and approve new hardware and software (5%)
  • Defines and coordinates preventative maintenance activities related to microcomputers. (5%)
  • Assists in the definition and coordination of microcomputer configuration standards and documentation. (10%)
  • Suggests and requests quotes for hardware and software purchases. Maintains an inventory of all microcomputer equipment, including peripheral devices. (10%)
  • Regulates incident and problem resolution through ticket allocation and reassignment (5%)
  • Assists ISD Manager with scheduling work shifts and location assignments (5%)

LEVEL OF EDUCATION
Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or GED, AA Degree



CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Preferred:

  • Comtptia A+, Network+, Microsoft



TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Preferred:

  • Advanced knowledge of microcomputer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating System. Advanced knowledge of server, network, and security concepts. Advanced knowledge of hospital systems and medical equipment such as EPIC, DR Systems, IBEX, Pharmacy, Laboratory, scanners, bar code readers, and specialized printers.
  • The above along with supervisor or task delegation experience

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum:

  • 2 years direct experience in microcomputer hardware and software operation, management, and r

  • Ability to interact with end users at all levels of knowledge of microcomputers.
  • The employee communicates effectively.Ability to teach and demonstrate to end users how to utilize hardware and software.
  • Works independently and must be able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple priorities.
