The Systems Req. & Design Engineer II – Electrical Systems is responsible for performing engineering work across multiple domains, with a primary focus on Wiring Systems Engineering, Electrical Distribution System Architecture, and general product and process engineering activities.

This role contributes to the development, integration, and continuous improvement of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, cost targets, quality standards, and customer expectations.

Key Activities:

  • Designing, analyzing, and validating vehicle wiring systems and electrical distribution architectures
  • Developing and maintaining system requirements, specifications, and design documentation
  • Supporting system-level architecture definition for electrical distribution, power management, and signal routing
  • Modifying, optimizing, and improving existing electrical systems and components
  • Evaluating technology trends and applying appropriate solutions to product designs
  • Supporting manufacturing, quality, and service teams with engineering expertise
  • Participating in root-cause analysis, and corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to assess engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and internal processes

Responsibilities

This role aligns with an Experienced Professional (P3) level, applying practical and theoretical knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and relevant work experience.

Responsibilities typically include:

  • Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision
  • Solving complex technical problems using established engineering principles
  • Making data‑driven engineering recommendations
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals
  • Influencing peers and stakeholders through clear communication of technical concepts, data, and engineering rationale

  • Electrical Engineering fundamentals
  • Process and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Engineering scripting / automation (advantageous)
  • DFMEA / Problem Solving Methodologies
  • CHS / or any automotive ECAD tools (advantageous)
  • Proficient with MS Application (Advanced in MS Excel is advantageous)

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline

Experience Requirements

Relevant industry experience in wiring systems, electrical systems design, or related engineering roles
