About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Systems Operations Manager.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage a Systems Operations team of analysts that monitor installed systems and infrastructure
  • Engage stakeholders and internal partners associated with the Systems Operations functional area
  • Identify and recommend opportunities within Systems Operations to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on technical tasks
  • Make decisions and resolve issues regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools to meet business objectives
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures, and understand compliance and risk management requirements for supported system area
  • Collaborate and consult with analysts, Information Technology personnel, or vendors
  • Manage mid to highly experienced analysts
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Systems Operations
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, and Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years of Leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience driving toil reduction and operational efficiency through automation, workflow simplification, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Proven leadership or hands-on experience implementing automation solutions using scripting languages, orchestration tools, or low-code/no-code platforms within Systems or IT Operations environments.
  • Exposure to Generative AI–enabled operations, including the use of copilots, AI-assisted monitoring, chatbots, or analytics tools to enhance incident management, system monitoring, or knowledge management.
  • Strong ability to identify and prioritize opportunities where AI and automation can improve incident response, root cause analysis, predictive monitoring, and operational decision-making.
    Experience supporting large-scale, enterprise, or 24x7 production environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Working knowledge of IT operations frameworks such as ITIL, including incident, problem, change, and service management best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a continuous improvement mindset focused on operational excellence, risk mitigation, and service quality.
  • Ability to translate operational metrics, risks, and insights into clear, actionable communication for senior leadership and stakeholders.


Job Expectations:

  • Experience with resource planning, including staffing and budget management
  • Background supporting large-scale, enterprise, or 24x7 operational environments
  • Familiarity with IT operations frameworks such as ITIL, incident, problem, and change management
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
