Job Description

The Leader for Systems Installation within the Projects Coordination Office (PCO) is a senior cross-business execution leader responsible for coordinating all the Systems Installation and Systems Commissioning activities during tendering and execution of GE Vernova’s largest enterprise projects, valued between $4 billion and $10 billion, spanning multiple business units. They will develop the system installation and commissioning philosophy for GEV scope of works, including identifying, assessing, and managing systems Installation risks associated with the development and delivery of these complex, multi-segment projects which are generally Behind-The-Meter (BTM) that include Gas Turbines, Wind Turbines, High Voltage (HV) systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Energy Management Systems (EMS), integrating technologies across several businesses. The role focuses on developing and driving a comprehensive, system-centric, installation and commissioning framework that ensures technical robustness, schedule integrity, and system performance reliability across the full project lifecycle—from concept through system commissioning and handover.

The Systems Installation Leader will coordinate cross-functional tendering and execution teams responsible for managing technical proposal development, defining Installation and Commissioning (I&C) execution strategy for data center applications including phased implementation and stability of data halls and associated power plant solutions. They will coordinate System I&C scope from Approval to Bid (DC1) to Commercial Operation (COD). They will embed structured Systems I&C practices across engineering, project management, and fulfillment functions, ensuring installation and commissioning risks are proactively identified, quantified, and mitigated. They will engage with senior executives, project leadership, and customer stakeholders to ensure systems installation aspects are clearly understood and managed at all levels. They will represent GE Vernova in discussions with enterprise customers and EPC partners during project definition, system design, execution phase, and post-execution evaluations, ensuring that systems Installation risks, technical interdependencies, and system commissioning are effectively governed and communicated for GEV scope of supply.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Systems Installation & Commissioning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cross-business project Systems Installation & Commissioning framework for large-scale integrated projects.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate cross-business installation & system commissioning risks throughout project development and delivery.
  • Lead structured system risk assessments (FMEA, HAZOP, PRA, etc.) across project phases for integrated EEP systems.
  • Drive early identification and resolution of system installation interfaces, performance, and commissioning risks.
  • Ensure effective risk handover from tendering through execution and commissioning.

2. Cross-Business Collaboration

  • Coordinate Systems I&C across GE Vernova business units to ensure an integrated approach to delivery, installation, and commissioning.
  • Facilitate cross-functional Systems Installation reviews to ensure interdependencies and system-level exposures are fully captured and managed.
  • Partner with PCO Technical Manager, PCO Risk Manager, and BU Engineering teams to embed system installation and commissioning risk mitigation plans into execution strategies.

3. Systems Installation Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting

  • Continuously monitor systems Installation aspects across system design, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Provide input to the project risk register and ensure quantitative systems installation risk analysis supports integrated project decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the PCO Planning Manager to provide systems installation progress dashboards for the GEV systems solution, trend analyses, and executive briefings to project and cross-business leadership.

4. Coordinate integrated project implementation of GEV EHS and Quality policies

  • Coordinate consistent implementation of GEV EHS and Quality policies in the integrated across business units
  • Ensure the health and safety of all employees involved with system installation and commissioning
  • Audit processes and tools as defined by the execution functions and ensure that these are fully implemented and adhered to

5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders—including customers, EPC partners, consultants, and suppliers —to ensure shared understanding and mitigation of key installation interfaces and system commissioning risks.
  • Represent GE Vernova in systems installation-related reviews, governance meetings, and customer project reviews.
  • Serve as the escalation focal point for cross-business installation risk issues.

6. Continuous Improvement & Governance

  • Continuously evaluate and improve cross-business Systems Installation processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Capture and apply lessons learned and best practices from global projects to strengthen future risk performance.
  • Promote a culture of proactive systems Installation risk management and accountability across GEV engineering and project teams.

Essential Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline) from an accredited university or college.
  • 15+ years of experience in complex power generation or grid infrastructure projects, including project execution, plant/system engineering, and/or technical risk management.
  • Proven experience managing installation risks across multi-technology, multi-business, or large-scale integrated energy projects.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s in Engineering or MBA preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of power plant systems, including Gas Turbines, Wind, Grid Solutions, Power Conversion, and BESS technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership in plant engineering, system integration, reliability, and execution risk management.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills for structured risk evaluation.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills across global and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to engage with executive and customer leadership on risk and system performance matters.
  • Commitment to developing a high-reliability, safety-first culture in large project environments

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $154,800.00 and $258,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
