The System Engineering Co-op student will work alongside, and in support of the Systems Engineering team. The system engineering team is a diverse, collaborative group working on the support and/or development of medical devices used to automate in-vitro diagnostic testing usually found in a microbiology laboratory. The engineering co-op student will be supervised by and mentored by the Director, Manager, and Senior engineers within the System Engineering team and the role will include a significant amount of interaction and collaboration with other system development team members.
The co-op student will obtain basic knowledge related to medical instrumentation research, design, development, and testing. Candidates will be expected to have general engineering knowledge including the use of standard engineering practices.
This position will include creation and execution of verification tests, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and evaluating instrument and system issues and design alternatives.
The co-op student will be given the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of the bioMérieux Design Control process that addresses US and international regulatory requirements, as well as internal Quality requirements.
