Job Description

The Systems Engineering Validation team is responsible for supporting the execution of critical field-testing efforts to deliver certification and design understand to the onshore wind engineering segment. The team requires a wide range of disciplines and focus areas from prototype field operations and instrumentation to modeling and complex data analysis. The Field Validation Engineer role focuses on the activities that contribute to the execution of field and lab testing to support development of products, quality solutions and overall component understanding. The desire and ability to travel and work directly with our test platforms on critical testing is required for this role. Use of data analysis and testing methods experience are expected areas of growth and development within this role. We are seeking a candidate who can support the systems validation team with field execution efforts.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination with the systems validation team to support execution of validation testing.
  • Ability to support instrumentation efforts on prototype and customer wind turbines.
  • Manage test programs to ensure the successful execution of the validation plan,
  • Ability to maintain clear status and communication to testing stakeholders.
  • Ability to work safety in an industrial or fleet operations environment.
  • Learn data analysis and/or testing methods in support of use in Design Validation Reviews (DVR’s) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree’ in Engineering from an accredited university/college OR Significant experience working in the energy industry.
  • 2+ years experience within an engineering function, preferred design experience and system level exposure.
  • A strong problem-solving skillset.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel to support field testing execution including working with sub systems, climbing wind turbines and performing field test execution, estimated ~20% annually.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Experience with large data set analysis (Global repository/Fleet data) to drive corrective action or improvement.
  • Interest in working on a cross discipline global team to deliver results.
  • Experience in using Python or MATLAB for data analysis tools.
  • Program or project experience.
  • Wind technology architecture knowledge
  • Desire to support the energy transition and work towards decarbonizing the world

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
