Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
• Execute assigned engineering activities for Protection & Control projects in line with the technical strategy defined or in collaboration with the Technical Leader
• Develop discipline-specific technical deliverables such as system configurations, SCADA applications, equipment parameterization, signal treatment, communication interfaces, databases and technical documentation depending on project scope.
• Configure and integrate SCADA systems, including HMI screens, equipment interfaces, communication protocols, digital and analog signals, events and alarm management.
• Configure and validate protection, control and automation equipment, including L1/L2 IEDs, logical functions, protection settings and communication interfaces.
• Design, develop and implement communication network architectures and data exchange solutions using protocols such as IEC 61850, Modbus, OPC, EGD and IEC 60870-5-104.
• Contribute to master file completion, architecture definition, technical documentation updates and preparation of project engineering deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain technical information required for internal and customer documentation packages, ensuring quality, completeness and traceability.
• Support the definition and implementation of technical solutions in collaboration with Technical Application Engineering (TAE), ensuring alignment between customer requirements, engineering capabilities and project scope.
• Execute test instructions and participate in internal validation testing, pre-FAT, FAT and SAT activities under project technical governance.
• Support identification, analysis and resolution of technical issues during engineering, validation, commissioning and project delivery stages.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Services, Procurement, Manufacturing, Tendering and other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated and efficient project execution.
• Act, when required, as a technical interface with customers during project execution, ensuring effective communication and alignment with local project teams.
• Maintain traceability of engineering changes, technical inputs and deliverables within the project execution framework.
• Provide technical support during project execution and participate, when required, in site commissioning, start-up and field validation activities to ensure successful system delivery.
• Contribute to lessons learned, standardization initiatives and continuous improvement actions aimed at enhancing project execution, operational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Support commercial and tendering activities through return-of-experience feedback, technical expertise and optimization of project cost and delivery performance.
• Contribute to achieving project objectives related to quality, schedule, customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Follow GE Vernova compliance policies and promote a culture of integrity, transparency and open reporting.

GE Vernova is a purpose-built energy technology company on a mission to electrify to thrive and decarbonize the world.
It is made up of three businesses -- Power, Wind, and Electrification -- with focus on accelerating the path to more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy, while helping our customers power economies and deliver the electricity that is vital to health, safety, security, and improved quality of life.
The world needs more energy, smarter energy. With energy demand expected to grow by more than 50% in the next 20 years, we are continuously innovating to meet the moment…like we have for the past 130 years. The Energy of Change and relentless optimism are what drive us – it’s about never giving up and seeing what’s possible so that we deliver the energy technologies the world needs right now and for generations to come.
GE Vernova’s attitude and edge is embedded in its name. We retain our treasured legacy, “GE,” as an enduring and hard-earned badge of quality and ingenuity. “Ver” / “verde” signal Earth’s verdant and lush ecosystems. “Nova,” from the Latin “novus,” nods to a new, innovative era of lower carbon energy that GE Vernova will help deliver.
Together, we have the energy to change the world.
