Systems Engineer, Senior
Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in national security? You understand your customer’s environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer focused engineering solution.
As a Systems Engineer on our team, you have the chance to shape the Navy’s mission by leading the planning, design, and technical documentation of large-scale complex systems. You will primarily be responsible for the functional or performance specification of large-scale systems and assessment of system and subsystem hardware and software designs through review and assessment of user needs.
In this role, you will apply your knowledge of electrical and mechanical hardware systems to support development and review of system performance specifications and system architectures. You will participate in the review of technical data packages and facilitate integrated product team and technical review meetings. You’ll identify technical deficiencies, and analyze problem reports, solutions, and recommendations. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and support existing systems sustainment and contribute to the acquisition and development of next-generation sensor, processing, and systems to support the Navy’s missions. Join our team and help turn requirements into accomplishments that drive change.
You may conduct feasibility studies for large projects, develop technical requests for proposal, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations on the selection of government or commercial designs or equipment. You will work directly with the government customer’s technical personnel and project managers in the planning and execution of technical activities on complex projects related to system and technical product development. You will employ existing guidelines and instructions with your personal experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish task objectives.
Additional duties will include acting as a major contributor or reviewing input to technical reports, status reports, contract deliverables, and formal briefings. You will have the opportunity to lead technical discussions at project review sessions and to customize and develop improvements to client techniques and procedures. Your customer will trust you to not only design and develop these systems, but also evolve them with advanced technology solutions. Grow your skills by merging your knowledge of systems engineering and an in-demand, exciting, and critical warfighting mission to create future solutions for the client. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
